WMI offers a range of Wilderness First Aid courses that focus on the recognition, prevention and treatment of many illnesses and injuries prevalent in Wilderness and Remote environments.
Many Australians venture out into remote and isolated places, be it for work or for play. Out there standard urban first aid courses, like Senior First Aid, just don’t cut it. We define Wilderness First Aid taking over from urban first aid when you find yourself GREATER THAN ONE HOUR FROM DEFINITIVE MEDICAL CARE.
Whether you are out there for fun or work, managing a patient in the bush requires training and expertise to prepare for the enormous challenge of providing emergency medical care in a wilderness environment. WMI is dedicated to giving you the best Wilderness First Aid training and the most recent developments in Wilderness Medicine in order to provide you with the decision-making tools to act confidently in all emergency situations.
Our approach is very different to typical first aid courses. Fast paced and hands-on, each course emphasizes role-play, scenarios and case studies. Textbook learning is secondary to actual experience. Instruction takes place outdoors as much as possible and fun is the central theme!
