MANSFIELD MOUNTAIN BIKE TOURS

LAKE NILLAHCOOTIE CAMP, MANSFIELD, VICTORIA

DEC 12 – 13 (WFA)

This 2-day WFA was held in a lush Victorian valley with a surrounding backdrop of the magnificent mountains of the Alpine National Park. The student base was a dynamic group ranging from horse riders to snow skiers to mountain bike riders and outdoor leaders. The highlight of the course was a visit by a brown snake during the "snake bite section" of the course! Our thanks to Chris and Sally Pullin for making it all happen so smoothly.

MT KIERA SCOUT CAMP, MT KIERA, NSW

DEC 2 – 3 (WFA)

This WFA unfolded in glorious rainforest setting on the outskirts of Wollongong at a place called "The Lodge". What a wild bunch of crew attended this one! Employers of the NSW Police Service, the Attorney Generals Department, DET and NPWS as well as Outbreak outdoor leaders and climbing and bushwalking enthusiasts. Our thanks to our dear friend, Sher Hannington who has run this second course with us and continues to prove himself to be a great support to WMI.

NORTAC (NATIONAL OUTDOOR RECREATION TRAINING & ASSESSMENT CENTRE)

BADEN-POWELL SCOUT CENTRE, PENNANT HILLS, NSW

NOV 25 – 26 (WFA)

This course consisted of an in house group of vibrant and groovy NORTAC leaders and was designed to provide them with the necessary first aid skills to meet the requirements of the National Training Package for Outdoor Recreation. It was set in amongst 42 hectares of natural bushland within Lane Cove National Park. Many thanks to Ian Murphy for being the perfect host and for taking the instructors sailing the day before the course! WMI continues to negotiate with NORTAC, proposing a WFR for Oct 2001.
